Bryan Ortiz (b. 1990, anaheim, California) is an artist living and working in Columbus, Ohio. Ortiz earned a BA in Studio Art from California State University, Los Angeles in 2015. His practice centers on painting to investigate themes such as memory, connectedness, and empathy. He explores ways the art making process can be a catalyst for the sharing of narratives and the cultivation of community. In 2015, Ortiz participated in Gallery-of-Solutions: Artist Respond to Human Behavior and the Environment at the Luckman Gallery, Los Angeles, curated by Kim Abeles. He has since crated, In My House, a site-specific installation celebrating family through painting and the domestic setting to form a collective experience.
