Lourdes Jiménez received her BA and MA from California State University, Northridge and her MFA from Florida State University in 2015. Her work has been shown nationally in places such as the American Museum of Ceramic Art in Pomona, California, at Fountain Art Fair in Miami Beach, Florida and at Birdsong Nature Center in Thomasville, Georgia.
Both broad and intimate concepts of cultural identity and duality, feminism, exposure to everyday experiences, nostalgia, narratives, and object accumulation continue to feed her current work. Interest arrises in the conglomerate existence of all these objects and conditions endlessly mixing and how they are woven together, spreading, growing and inevitably forming our own specific landscapes around us. Through these landscapes
we are capable of seeing each others' stories- a narrative on the condition of living left behind and surviving in nostalgic objects and installations.
